How eating meat effects the human population

This blog will be more of a rant.
 Everyday I get comments about my lifestyle. Mainly negative, although those positive comments do come around every once in awhile and those make my days! However, people think that a vegan lifestyle is lacking in vitamins and nutrients. I'm not sure if im not being specific enough for them with my nutritional advice (and I give only advice as I am not a "qualified" nutrition expert). Maybe I should start saying plant based lifestyle rather than vegan so it doesn't sound so... extreme as some would say.

Nearly every vegan out there gets asked the questions- Where do you get your protein? Where do you get iron and calcium?  How do you have enough energy to stay awake all day? How can you build muscle on a vegan diet?
All of these questions are valid because society has everyone convinced that meat, dairy and eggs are vital for our heath and development.
What many people don't know is that the meat and dairy industry pay TRILLIONS of dollars a year to the government. Hence why you see meat and dairy on the Canada's Food Guide. The meat and dairy industry pay to be where they are today, and they also pay to advertise their food.

But what fails to make it our general knowledge is how food is made and how it makes it to our convenient grocery stores and onto your table. Most people don't know what macro or micro nutrients are. When I do get asked those types of questions that I stated earlier I simply reply and say that all food contains carbs, fat, protein, and water. The ratios between the macro nutrients will vary depending on the type of food.  Yes, a banana contains carbs, fats,protein and water.Another thing I tell people is that we have billions of cells in our bodies and if we are alive, and breathing then so are those cells in our body. Since we are humans we require food for energy- just like the cells that make up our body.
Carbohydrates are easily converted into energy and believe it or not our little tiny cells need that easy energy because our bodies insist on doing things the most efficient way possible so in the long run we can conserve energy. But like many people in the world they learn the hard way. And that is exactly what our bodies are doing when we consistently consume high animal fat and protein diets.

This pie chart  shows the increasing rate of illness and disease. What this pie chart does not show is the increasing consumption of meat and dairy.
Time are changing, and times have changed. What meat and dairy was 100 years ago is not what it is today. Also the amount of meat and dairy we eat a day is outrageous, and it is damaging the health of our species and our planet (the thing that gives us existence).

The reason meat and dairy lead to illness and disease like cancer, diabetes, Alzheimers, arthritis, and heart disease is because those foods are lacking in vitamins and minerals that keep our bodies alkaline. Meat and dairy are very acidic and when our blood becomes acidic it is basically opening itself up to a toxic environment. Your body will be more susceptible to DNA mutations (cancer) and it will build up a plaque in your arteries due to the high saturated fat that is found in animal products. Just like carbohydrates, not all saturated fat is the same. Animal fats found in meat, dairy and eggs are different compared to a coconut oil, nut/seed or avocado fat. The saturated fat found from plants, nuts/seeds contains fibre, minerals, and omega-3's. Also the triglyceride's found in coconut oil are medium chain triglyceride's (MCT's) which do not require as much energy to be metabolize due to the size of the molecule. It enters the blood stream and is used as instant energy. Coconut oil is also high in lauric acid, vitamin E, and other minerals.
Avocado's are rich in potassium, vitamin E, Omega-3's and fibre along with many other nutrients and minerals. You can literally taste the difference. If you took a piece of meat with no added flavour/spice and chewed it it would taste very bland and it wouldn't be appealing at all. If you took a splice of ripe avocado or coconut meat and chewed it raw it would be loaded with flavour.

Also, by adding in more plants to your diet and with proper food combining the rate of absorption of protein, iron, calcium, and minerals are far higher than by eating a diet high in animal fat/protein. The dead animals that people eat may be high in protein but people often over look the type of protein. The protein found in animals such as whey, and casein aren't easily absorbed and metabolised by our bodies. The protein is being wasted because our bodies can't digest it efficiently and also those proteins create enzymes that initiate and promote cancer growth hence the increase if illness and disease.
So the point of this post is to open up the mind and give those plants more credit than they seem to get. They are a lot more powerful than any dead carcass could ever be.

So please -carbs from fruit, potatoes, rice, beans, and veggies are not bad carbs and they will not make you fat. Eat in abundance to thrive and live life to the fullest.

How Much Water To Create One Beef Patty??

At first it may be hard to visualise where all the water is going to create/generate one beef patty. The numbers are actually astounding. If these numbers and facts that im about to discuss don't make you second guess your food choices for the sake of OUR planet, then hopefully you'll second guess it for your own health.

 Beef = 15415 L/kg
Banana= 790L/kg
Sheep meat= 10412 L/kg
Rice = ~2497 L/kg
Egg= 196L for one 60g egg
cucumber & pumpkin = 353L/kg
Cheese= 3178 L /kg
Butter= 5553 L/kg
Cabbage = 237 L/kg
Wine = 109 L/ 125ml glass

You can see the ranges of water consumption for various products that are used by most people in their every day life.

Ill explain where all the water goes to get a beef patty because the numbers are obviously dangerously different when compared to a fruit or vegetable.

Since your beef was once a living being it needed 3 essentials: water, food and sunlight. They may not of necessarily got proper sunlight but I'm sure they got hormones in replace of sunlight (feeling sassy).
 Majority of the crops are grown abroad in South America where a lot the rainforests have been cleared to grow the soy crops to feed our cows, chickens, and pigs and any other farmed animal.
The cow will consume around 1300kg of grain (oats, barley, corn, peas, soy, wheat) around 7200kg of that they feed off of roughage such as dry hay, pasture, silage and others like grass)

Water is needed to grow the crop. Its so hard to actually visualize and understand the huge impact this has on our planet because if we take the number of cattle in North America and each cow needs 1300kg of grains that is going to be A LOT of rainforest destruction and A LOT of water to grow.  The scariest part of all this is that we are literally self destructing OUR planet. Because by consuming meat and dairy not only does it wreck our eco-system, it wrecks our own health. We are destroying and evolving poorly of the human race. We are creating an environment for disease and illness.

And we haven't even talked about the amount of methane that is produced. Because I'm sure we all know that when you eat large amounts of food, it all has to come out and go somewhere. By somewhere I mean our air and our ozone layer.

Knowing what you know, please make a smart and helpful decision for YOU.

How dairy causes osteoporosis and an acidic environment

In my previous post I explained the importance of blood alkalinity. The alkalinity of your body determines the ability of illness/disease/cancer or lack of illness/disease/cancer. I want to explain how cow milk/dairy has a negative effect on human health.
With any food we eat it can either benefit our bodies ability to absorb and utilize nutrients or it can hinder our ability to absorb and utilize nutrients which can lead to DNA mutations (cancer) or illness/disease.
The proteins found in cow's milk is casein (80%) and whey(20%). Casein is found as a solid in cheese, where the whey has been filtered or strained out. Milk, consists mostly of Whey protein.
The property of cows milk is far from alkaline. We have been conditioned by society and the dairy industry to believe that dairy will build us strong bones and teeth. Im sorry, we have all been lied to.
Don't fret, because there is always time to change, and there is ample research to prove how unhealth dairy is for humans.

Alkaline minerals: Calcium, Potassium, Magnesium, Sodium, Iron, Silica.

Acidic minerals: Chlorine, Phosphorus, Iodine, Sulphur

Cow's milk does contain the alkaline minerals, however the amount of acidic minerals, lactose, casein and whey found in cows milk/dairy outweighs the good minerals. Most people think that because milk and dairy have lots of calcium that they are going to absorb it all and develop or maintain their strong bones. In reality our bodies have to buffer our blood to bring it back to a pH of 7.3-7.4 and your body is not going to absorb any of the calcium or beneficial minerals.

(resource: https://naturalnoshes.wordpress.com/tag/alkalize/)

So what happens and how does it lead to Osteoporosis??
Your body must buffer the acidic environment by pulling alkaline minerals from your bones. Your body will take the minerals where there is the most supply, which are in your bones. After many years of consuming dairy your body hasn't had a chance to actually store enough calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus in your bones because it was too busy giving them away to your body/blood with the instinct of protecting your body from an acidic environment. Because when your body undergoes acidity for long periods you're more prone to illness and disease. If your body is kept in an alkaline state it is highly unlikely that your bones will become brittle, or have a chance of developing a type of cancer.
Often times people will go and get their blood tested to check up on their vitamin and mineral contents. Typically your blood calcium levels will be normal because once you've digested the milk/dairy those minerals do float around in your blood stream while still pulling them from your bones. What happens is you end up urinating the excess calcium out.

Fact: The states who consume the most dairy have the highest rates of Osteoporosis. (The China Study, Dr. T. Colin Campbell).

Tips:
1) Ditch the dairy milk. This day in age there are so many dairy free milks. Try Almond, Rice, Coconut, Hemp, Soy milk.
2)Drink plenty of alkaline water if you have access. I recommend investing in a filtered water bottle because it does make a difference in your life.
3) Eat your greens. Make it a daily goal to eat greens, whether it be in the form of a salad, or added to a smoothie, or stir fry
4) Eat plenty of fruits. Fruits do not make you fat. they are the perfect food for alkalinity as long as they are ripe. start your day off with a bowl of chopped ripe fruit, or in a smoothie.
